International Students
TCAP is proud to be an international training provider for students of animal physiotherapy.
Blending supported online study with in-person practical training, we’ve helped hundreds of overseas students on their journey to professional practice.
For International students there are two options for undertaking practical training. The theory elements of the course remain unchanged, however, for the practical element of the course, students outside the UK can elect to follow one of two pathways:
– The UK Accredited Pathway
– The International Pathway
THE UK ACCREDITED PATHWAY
Students must attend all of the mandatory training days hosted within the UK and must complete 20 full days of practical training within the UK with our UK based trainers. The College will periodically host intensive training weeks in the UK designed to deliver the mandatory training in an intensive format.
In 2024, intensive training for the canine and equine components of their diploma is available on the following dates:
Canine | Monday 9th September – Friday 13th September 2024
Equine | Monday 16th September – Friday 20th September 2024
THE INTERNATIONAL PATHWAY
Students may undertake some or all of their training in their home country, or another country outside of the UK, where this can be facilitated by local trainers. The College also periodically organises intensive training weeks within the UK and may also organise training in other hubs as appropriate. Completion of this pathway leads to the TCAP International Diploma In Animal Physiotherapy. This is not a UK accredited programme.
ASSESSMENT
This will be a combination of written and practical work to give continuous assessment of progress as well as a final examination. There are five components:
- End of unit assessment: At the end of each unit, there is a test paper that the student is required to complete including some written assignments/essays. This is an open book assessment;
- Research project: The final module is a research project. Students will be given guidance throughout this project;
- A skills log evidencing the attainment of necessary practical skills;
- Some reflection activity;
- Final Exam: Students will be required to complete and pass a final exam, both theory and practical.
