Our Team

Managing Director

Fred has overall responsibility for the College, is involved in equine training and works on the production and development of physiotherapy equipment.

A competitive rider from a very young age, Fred travelled and competed around Europe as a professional show jumper before following his mother into the field of animal physiotherapy.

In 1985, he joined the company, continuing his travels across Europe and focussing on the development of new therapy facilities. Fred is also a trained and experienced equine dentist.

Administrator

Bev is Administrator for The College of Animal Physiotherapy and the first point of contact for all our students.

She is responsible for the day-to-day liaison with all Level 4-6 equivalent Diploma students in both the UK and overseas, guiding them through their online learning; arranging Equine and Canine practical days, booking exams and much more. She is the first port of call for all prospective students considering vocational training with TCAP, and always at the end of the phone to provide support and encouragement.

We work with a number of trainers across the UK. All our trainers have one or more of the following:

  • Extensive industry experience
  • Qualifications in the field of Physiotherapy at Level 6 or above
  • Qualifications in related professions e.g., osteopathy or chiropractic, saddle fitting
  • Qualifications in Education and/or Training

The whole operation is supported by a small and friendly office team.

TCAP Trainer

Liz is a TCAP graduate who qualified in 2005.

Travelling in Australia created an opportunity to train as a vet nurse, and post qualification, saw Liz travel and work around Australia before returning to the UK.

Life in a busy veterinary practice highlighted the potential benefits canine therapeutic massage, rehabilitation and physiotherapy could bring to her patients and kick started Liz’s journey into physiotherapy.

Liz believes in a hands-on approach and face to face teaching. She emphasises, ‘this connection is critical if students are having any difficulties in the learning modules – they need a safe space to discuss their challenges and the friendly, inclusive environment offered by TCAP, really sets it apart’.

Her best words of advice to prospective students? “Be open to all opportunities and have a go. Try to have an open mindset for learning. You will never stop learning. 17 years on I’m still learning new things every day.”

TCAP Trainer

Katie is a graduate of both the TCAP Level 3 Equine Massage Course (2017) and the Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy (2021). She now runs her own professional practice, Sky Equine, comprising a specialist rehabilitation livery yard and mobile physiotherapy practice. Her particular passion is equine, specifically the post-op rehabilitation of horses with Kissing Spines.

In 2024 we welcomed Katie to the team as a trainer for our equine massage and animal physiotherapy courses. Her advice to anyone considering training with TCAP? “Do it!”
